Purpose and audience

MakerGauge publishes tools and explanations for small maker businesses. Content should help a reader make a clearer decision, reproduce a calculation, or improve the quality of the inputs they track.

Sources and calculations

We prefer official marketplace policies, government data, manufacturer documentation, and original calculations. Time-sensitive fee reviews record the relevant market, seller type, category, fee base, effective date, and material exceptions. Figures are labeled with a verification date and reviewed when a page is materially updated. Public presets remain editable when account-specific charges can differ. Calculator formulas are documented in our methodology and tested against worked examples.

Byline and accountability

MakerGauge Editorial Team is an organizational byline, not a claim about a named person's credentials. The editorial team profile documents the source-verification, calculation-testing, correction, and independence process behind that byline. MakerGauge remains responsible for published work produced with that process.

AI and automation

Automation may assist research, drafting, formatting, and quality checks. It does not remove our responsibility for the published result. Pages are reviewed for usefulness, internal consistency, and unsupported claims before publication. We do not publish large batches of lightly changed pages to target search queries.

Advertising, affiliates, and sponsors

Advertising and affiliate revenue may support MakerGauge. Paid relationships do not change calculator formulas or guarantee favorable coverage. Affiliate relationships are disclosed near affected recommendations, and sponsored content is labeled clearly. Compensation does not buy a ranking or an undisclosed endorsement.

Corrections

We correct factual and calculation errors promptly. A material correction that could change a reader's decision will include a visible note describing what changed. Typographic and clarity edits may be made without a correction note.
