MakerGauge is an independent collection of calculators and guides for people who sell what they make. We started with 3D printing because a slicer can estimate grams and hours, but it cannot tell you what your time, machine wear, failed prints, packaging, and selling fees are worth.

What we have built

MakerGauge now covers complete 3D print pricing, filament and resin costs, electricity, machine rates, failed work, print-farm capacity, ROI, and FDM-versus-resin planning. Marketplace tools model selected Etsy, eBay, Shopify, Amazon Handmade, and TikTok Shop scenarios while keeping production and fulfillment costs visible. The library now extends into broader handmade-product pricing and laser-shop economics, including cutting, engraving, hourly operating rates, investment payback, monthly profit, and capacity. Every tool preserves the same visible-input, auditable-formula approach.

Heat-transfer tools add DTF gang-sheet planning, heat-press investment payback, and reject-aware sublimation batch pricing. They keep supplier prices, production settings, demand, and failure assumptions editable instead of presenting one vendor's example as a universal result.

How the work is produced

Articles use the MakerGauge Editorial Team organizational byline. The team profile explains how official fee sources are checked, calculation modules and worked examples are tested, corrections are handled, and commercial influence is kept outside the math. The editorial policy and methodology document the standards applied across the site.
